The first key aspect to beach hair is layers, which help bring out the natural waves in the locks. Volume is also important, so washing the hair with a volumising shampoo will help give it some body (which is especially important with limp hair).

It’s the salt in the ocean that helps create the textured look for beach hair, so the alternative is to use a texturising mousse or a surf spray and work it from the roots to the tips of the wet hair. You can then either let the hair dry naturally or blow-dry it gently using a diffuser. Since the idea is to create a natural look, use only a touch of hairspray to tame the hair.
